and it’s [not] leaking into my bellhousing through the inspection hole which will [not] eventually ruin the clutch. I just finished resealing the oil cooler which is an absolute bitch on a 944. At least the part is cheap. I [did] use an all metal one from an Audi 100.
It still never ends, though.

Did you have the milkshake problem in your 944’s? Oil cooler? Thank god it never happened to me but I’ve read the horror threads on rennlist and the lot.

No, but it was leaking oil externally. Usually, if it fails internally, you get oil in the coolant because oil pressure > water pressure - though it can go the other way. Fortunately, I didn’t have any internal issues, but the o-rings were very hard and had permanently assumed the shape of the groove.
It is a difficult job and I went in from the bottom rather than risk breaking a header bolt.
